Job Duties:

  • Assessing and planning nursing care requirements for patients with mental health issues
  • Monitoring and administering medication and treatments
  • Building therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care
  • Evaluating and documenting patients' progress and response to treatment
  • Implementing and reviewing care plans
  • Providing support and education to patients and their families
  • Participating in clinical audits and research activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Mental Health Nurse
  • Previous experience working in a mental health setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Education:

  • Degree in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of mental health conditions and treatments
  • Proficiency in clinical assessment and care planning
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies in mental health nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
  • Training in cognitive-behavioural therapy or other relevant therapeutic interventions
