Facilities Coordinator – Basildon, Essex – FM Service Provider
Salary: £30,000 per annum
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a Facilities Management service provider based in Basildon, Essex.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in Facilities Management as a Facilities Coordinator. In return, the company offers a competitive salary, further training, and the chance to work with a great team.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 5:00 pm (Full-time in the office). The role may require staying late to assist with events.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Facilities and carry out rota duties to ensure coverage during absences or peak times.
- Maintain knowledge of building management systems, security, and fire alarm systems.
- Open and close the RCPath office according to procedures.
- Conduct facilities checks to ensure functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Identify, report, and record maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Perform minor installations and maintenance within your skills and agreed procedures.
- Assist Security with managing the access control system, including issuing and cancelling access cards and generating usage reports.
- Liaise with third-party contractors (e.g., plumbers, electricians) to ensure maintenance complies with statutory and company requirements, coordinating access and scheduling.
- Keep records of maintenance work to ensure equipment servicing is up to date.
- Manage site requests such as property maintenance and cleaning.
- Assist with Health, Safety & Environment procedures, including audits.
- Participate in the Emergency Response Team during incidents.
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, including franking and distribution.
- Conduct fire evacuation training for new staff and refresher sessions as needed.
- Organise collection of confidential shredding waste.
- Perform general office administration duties, including printing.
- Monitor stocks of supplies and stationery, and place orders with approved suppliers following purchasing procedures.
Requirements
- Experience supporting AV for events, conferences, and meetings.
- Proficiency with advanced audio-visual equipment.
- AV-specific qualifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
- Experience with web streaming services and online conferencing platforms.
- Experience supporting facilities services.
- Knowledge of maintaining technical equipment related to BMS, M&E, and general building services.
- Experience supervising contractors and service providers.
- IT skills, including managing Windows-based PCs and Mac equipment, and familiarity with digital platforms like MS Teams and Zoom.
- Knowledge of health & safety and fire evacuation procedures.
