We are looking for a well-organised and versatile individual to work with the Lead Counsellor in delivering a counselling service in Swansea and NPT for individuals, including children, who have been bereaved. This role is part of a blend of Health Board and Welsh Government funded projects for 3 years until March 2028, offering psychological relief to bereaved individuals during their first year of loss.
The method includes explaining models of bereavement, providing individual counselling through an assessment and 6 sessions, as well as delivering group sessions. This support will assist clients through those first, emotionally challenging anniversaries.
The counsellor will represent Platfform Wellbeing and must behave in a professional and ethical manner, responding positively and helpfully to suggestions and colleagues. During periods of downtime, you may be required to work on other projects within Platfform Wellbeing and assist the Lead Counsellors in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization.
We work with individuals facing mental health challenges and with communities aiming to foster a greater sense of wellbeing. Through our projects, we support thousands of people each year. We believe that long-lasting wellbeing arises from understanding how lives can be affected by traumatic experiences, identifying individual strengths, and focusing on healing. We recognize that we cannot 'fix' people, but we can walk alongside them and assist on their journey.
We strive to make Platfform a great place to work, embodying our values and mission in all that we do.
