Support Worker (Internally known as an Enablement Assistant)

About the role
John is a 19-year-old man with diagnoses including PTEN, Chiari malformation, cortical dysplasia, macrocephaly, autism, complex speech and language difficulties, profound learning disabilities, epilepsy, and Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes.
He is a very relaxed individual who enjoys the company of support workers. He is tactile, likes to watch his favourite TV shows, go for walks in the countryside, and enjoys peace and quiet. He can be startled by loud noises and needs reassurance. Although non-verbal, he enjoys interaction, which should be supportive of his needs.
We are looking for team members to keep him company at home, support him with baking and cooking, and spend time in the garden. He has his own accessible vehicle for community outings and walks.

About PBS4
We are a values-led social care provider supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Our model is based on Positive Behaviour Support. We support people to live independently in their own homes across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Somerset, with a team of around 300 employees supporting 37 individuals.
Support Workers are called Enablement Assistants within PBS4. You will have team support, including from the Enablement Manager, Deputy Enablement Manager, and Positive Behaviour Support Clinician. Shifts may include day shifts, waking nights, and sleeps.
