Role Overview
Have you recently finished your refrigeration apprenticeship and are now seeking a new challenge? At JCI, you will be trained to provide in-service support for our equipment, including chilled water plants, refrigeration systems, and HVAC solutions. This role requires versatility, adaptability to new technologies, and a proactive mindset, as you\’ll work on a diverse range of equipment, including large-scale chillers up to 10,000Kw inside plant rooms of Navy and Commercial Marine Vessels.

What You Will Do
- Assist with commissioning and testing of refrigeration and HVAC equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and complete repairs and retrofits
- Support factory acceptance trials at our Basildon facility when required
- Maintain accurate records of work and report on any issues
- Ensure a safe working environment and high customer satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
- Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and handling multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach
- Familiarity with Navy/Marine environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of PLC/microprocessor-based systems, HVAC systems, and air balancing is a plus
- Flexibility to travel around the UK and internationally as required
- Flexibility to work weekends when needed
- SC UK MOD Security Clearance (screening provided by JCI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Apprenticeship training in refrigeration or HVAC
- City & Guilds, NVQ, or BTEC in refrigeration/HVAC
- F-Gas (C&G 2079)
- Electrical qualifications are desirable but not essential
