Position Overview
Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Petroleum Engineer, located in our Aberdeen Office. The successful candidate will perform petroleum engineering work across the Cygnus asset within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team, in close collaboration with the asset operational team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing petroleum engineering support for the Cygnus asset, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring well production data and conducting rate/pressure transient analysis to identify performance trends and opportunities to optimize production.
- Collaborating with operational teams to ensure effective well management and production optimization.
- Identifying, evaluating, and maturing production enhancement and optimization opportunities to add reserves and unlock potential.
- Analyzing and modeling production systems, including well inflow, tubing, flowlines, and surface facilities.
- Preparing and documenting production forecasts for short-term planning and investment decisions, using decline curves and network models.
- Providing technical support for well planning, completions design, and execution, including testing and sampling operations.
- Designing well intervention and stimulation programs to improve or restore production, ensuring safe and effective execution.
- Planning data acquisition operations such as PVT, PBU, and sampling to validate well performance and production predictions.
- Acting as technical project manager and interfacing with reservoir, exploration, drilling, and operational teams for well interventions.
- Ensuring proper data management and proposing improvements to asset databases.
Safety & Conduct
- Ensuring all activities are conducted safely, complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation, and Ithaca Energy HSEQ procedures.
- Adhering to company policies and values at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc degree in an engineering discipline, preferably petroleum engineering, with relevant experience.
- PhD or MSc degree in engineering is desirable.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to offshore installations.
- Proficiency with production databases and surveillance software such as OFM, and well testing software like Saphire Kappa is preferred.
- Effective communication skills across technical disciplines and the ability to present confidently to stakeholders.
- Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and adaptability skills.
- Self-motivated with leadership qualities to deliver technical studies and tasks.
- Experience working on producing assets and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
