Tool Maker

About the Role:

We are looking for a Tool Maker to join our Works Services Team in Scarborough. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing press tools, ensuring optimal machine performance, and supporting efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, repair, and modify press tools to ensure high machine uptime.
• Manufacture precision tools to customer specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in tooling and machinery.
• Manage stock control of spare parts and materials.
• Collaborate on the design and manufacture of new tooling.
• Operate tool room machinery, including millers, drills, grinders, lathes, and wire eroders.
• Follow health & safety protocols and report any unsafe practices.
• Assist in machine breakdown investigations and problem-solving.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience with press tooling, power presses, and CNC turret presses.
• Proficiency in operating tool room machinery and using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D & 3D engineering drawings (CAD/CAM).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on approach with a commitment to safety and quality.
