About the Role:
We are looking for a Tool Maker to join our Works Services Team in Scarborough. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing press tools, ensuring optimal machine performance, and supporting efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and modify press tools to ensure high machine uptime.
- Manufacture precision tools to customer specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in tooling and machinery.
- Manage stock control of spare parts and materials.
- Collaborate on the design and manufacture of new tooling.
- Operate tool room machinery, including millers, drills, grinders, lathes, and wire eroders.
- Follow health & safety protocols and report any unsafe practices.
- Assist in machine breakdown investigations and problem-solving.
- Support training and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience with press tooling, power presses, and CNC turret presses.
- Proficiency in operating tool room machinery and using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D & 3D engineering drawings (CAD/CAM).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
