Salary: £13.27 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Your Role and Responsibilities

1. Support the Head Chef in organising, planning, and preparing meals, ensuring all home-cooked food looks and tastes delicious while reflecting residents’ preferences and dietary requirements.
2. Work alongside the Head Chef to provide guidance and training to care teams on understanding and implementing safe and appropriate textured food options, ensuring compliance with dietary standards.
3. Comply with industry and Meallmore quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
4. Participate in menu development, tailoring options around residents’ needs, likes, and dislikes to deliver person-centred hospitality.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong cookery skills and creativity in preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals for residents.
• A warm, personal approach with genuine interest in residents’ well-being.
• Ability to work to deadlines, meeting residents’ needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food allergies is desirable but not essential.
• Culinary qualification is desirable but not essential.
