This role involves assisting the Shoreside marine litigation team in the full range of dry and wet work, conducting your own caseload and providing assistance to others, with Partner support and oversight in court and arbitration.

Shoreside Law brings together a collaborative and specialist team of international lawyers and mariners dedicated to complex shipping, yacht, commercial, insurance and energy disputes. We provide high-quality advice with a view to solving disputes quickly, effectively, and with a commercial focus.

This role will be to specifically join the Shoreside Law team in London, but there will also be opportunities to work with our colleagues in our office in Greece. Our work is wide-ranging, and no day is the same. The majority of our cases are high value, complex, and are frequently “headline” cases. All of our team undertake cases that relate to the full gamut of shipping contractual disputes, involving collisions, salvage, insurance, yachts and superyachts, ports, terminals and other industry operators. We have deep connections to multiple law firms and clients in jurisdictions globally and we are frequently called on by our clients to solve their problems wherever they may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a mixture of own and other’s caseloads of both wet and dry shipping litigations and arbitration.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, although flexibility is expected due to the nature of our work. We operate flexible working, with a requirement to work a minimum 1 day per week in the office. Primary location for this role is City of London.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 1 - 2 year qualified solicitor with experience of handling shipping disputes in both the High Court and Arbitration Required
  • Soft Skills:
  • A self-motivated and personable individual
  • Someone with sound judgment, strong analytical skills and a commercial approach
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues
