Our client, based in South London / Surrey, has an exciting permanent role for a Data Analyst / Report Writer.
The reporting analyst will meet our client\’s complex reporting requirements using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting platforms. You will be part of a crucial business team, assisting users and colleagues with daily support tasks as well as project-related work.
The role will include:
- Creating reports requested by clients and consultants in Excel and Power BI from SQL databases.
- Providing support to existing clients, working with them to enhance and update reports.
- Liaising with clients and consultants to identify and understand reporting requirements.
- Checking data maps for accuracy during data imports and exports, and validating data.
- Testing new reports for compatibility with software versions before release.
- Assisting with the maintenance of complex appraisal spreadsheets.
- Supporting system releases, including testing and documentation, providing support to clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Report Writing
- Collaborate with clients and consultants to understand reporting needs.
- Create reports in Excel and from SQL databases.
- Support and enhance existing reports for clients.
- Validate data imports and exports periodically.
- Test reports for compatibility before release.
- Maintain version control for reports.
- Assist in maintaining the main financial model.
- Support system releases, including testing and documentation.
- Respond to report requests, understanding client briefs.
- Log improvements and changes in data structures using Monday.com.
- Maintain the standard suite of reports.
Support
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams.
- Assist in testing new software releases.
Skills/Experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including:
- Complex formulas
- Connecting to SQL databases via ODBC
- Creating and maintaining macros in VBA
- Developing user-friendly solutions
Experience with querying SQL databases, Power BI report creation, and SQL server management is required. The candidate should be self-motivated, proactive, curious, an analytical problem solver, and able to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team. A degree-level education is required, along with experience in social housing finance or development.
