Are you an experienced compliance leader with a strong background in AML (Anti-Money Laundering), regulatory risk, and financial crime prevention? Are you ready to step into a strategic leadership role where you can shape and scale compliance frameworks across a dynamic organisation? GTS is partnering with a leading digital banking business to hire a Head of Compliance and AML. The person will be responsible for overseeing the compliance strategy, leading regulatory engagements, and ensuring the organisation remains fully aligned with FCA regulations, AML directives, and best-in-class governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the compliance and AML strategy, ensuring alignment with UK regulatory requirements (FCA, JMLSG, AMLD, etc.).
  • Oversee all aspects of financial crime prevention, including AML, CTF, sanctions screening, KYC/EDD processes, and suspicious activity reporting.
  • Act as SMF16/SMF17 (where applicable), liaising directly with regulators and external bodies.
  • Manage and grow the compliance function, providing leadership, mentoring, and strategic direction.
  • Conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance training programmes.
  • Own the compliance monitoring framework and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory developments, assess their impact, and implement necessary changes.

  • Proven experience in a Head of Compliance, MLRO, or similar senior compliance role.
  • Deep understanding of UK AML regulations, FCA requirements, and financial crime frameworks.
  • Strong track record managing regulatory audits and submissions.
  • Skilled in building scalable compliance functions within fast-paced environments.
