Teaching Personnel is supporting a Hampshire-based secondary school in their search for a Head of Year to join their pastoral leadership team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed classroom practitioner looking to take on a strategic leadership role, supporting students’ academic progress, personal development, and wellbeing.

The Role:

As Head of Year, you will lead a specific year group and oversee all aspects of their pastoral care, working closely with senior leaders, form tutors, and parents to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility across Key Stages 3 and 4, primarily within your subject specialism, and includes a TLR 2c allowance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and support to students within your year group, maintaining high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement
• Monitor academic progress, identify barriers to success, and implement intervention strategies
• Work closely with the wider pastoral team, including SEND and safeguarding colleagues, to support students holistically
• Build positive relationships with families and external agencies to enhance student outcomes
• Teach a reduced timetable within your subject area across Key Stage 3 and 4
• Promote the school’s ethos of high expectations, inclusion, and achievement for all

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
