The Role: Development Finance Business partner initially for O2, Lewisham and Strategic Land Portfolio (subject to revision over time as projects evolve).
Member of development project teams.
Salary: Competitive.
The Location: The role is based in London, Victoria. The role offers hybrid working, with majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager to find the best fit for both you and the role.
The Team: The role will report into the Development Finance Director, supporting the Capital Projects team.
What you will be responsible for:
- Provide appropriate challenge and decision support to Development and Project Managers to optimise performance across the allocated development portfolio.
- Operate an early warning control environment to optimise performance management for allocated portfolio, identifying opportunities for improvement and to ensure performance to plan is understood by the business, and optimised.
- Liaison with financial planning and analysis team for i) budget preparation, ii) review performance reporting, and iii) agreeing forecasts in respect of allocated portfolio.
- Liaison and collaboration with Analyst team for i) budget preparation, ii) valuation forecasting, and iii) periodic appraisal updates.
- Critical assessment of output of appraisals and potential impact on the business.
- Monitor progress against development appraisal.
- Provide data for Valuation (forecasting process and period ends) and Post Completion Reviews.
- Understand and challenge valuation returns and input into group reporting packs.
- Ensuring correct accounting treatment for all elements of the Developments.
- Identify elements of work that could be allocated to Development Finance Analyst.
- Contractor covenant reviews.
Your skills, experience and qualifications:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
- Experienced in the delivery of a range of real estate development schemes (e.g. offices, residential & hotels) and of different funding structures.
- Experience of analysing information from a variety of sources to monitor and track performance and to predict trends.
- Keen interest in Systems and proven ability to work with financial planning and reporting tools, ideally OneStream and/or Power BI.
- Budget and forecasting experience.
