Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd (DSFS) based in Chesterfield are looking to appoint the right candidate into the exciting role of ICT Applications Manager to join the DSFS ICT Operations Team. This involves leading and managing the ICT Applications Team delivering a first-class service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Provide personal leadership and management to the ICT Applications Services team, ensuring they are clear about their objectives, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
  • Lead on all aspects of the ICT Applications Services delivery provided by the ICT support team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the ICT Applications Services users throughout all DSFS customers; communicate ICT Applications Services issues to internal and external staff, providing guidance on courses of action available.
  • Ensure that incidents, changes and service requests are managed in accordance with Service Level Agreements; ensuring that change management and implementation processes are robust and effective in supporting business needs.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Training:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience (preferably in a Computing/IT or Health related discipline)
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent evidence of experience.
  • Experience of managing large organisation-wide clinical applications.
  • Service Management qualification (e.g. ITIL foundation).
Experience:
  • Experience of managing team leaders and multiple teams concurrently.
  • Experience of service management in a large IT infrastructure and systems environment (2000+ PCs; 450+ servers; 4000+ users).
  • Experience of writing, implementing and controlling operational processes/procedures.
  • Experience of delivering ICT support services against contractually enforceable KPIs.
  • NHS experience.
  • Project Management of a successful, medium-sized Application implementation.
  • Previous management/administration of a Health Information System.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Understanding of the application of a QMS system such as ITIL, ISO 9001 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of acceptance into Business As Usual process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Strong Application/System management knowledge.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills for self and team.
  • Understanding of process development and change implementation.
Personal Attributes:
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including senior clinicians.
