International House London is seeking enthusiastic and passionate General English Teachers to join our diverse and vibrant team for the Summer 2025 Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced teachers who are looking to inspire students from all over the world in one of the UK’s most respected language schools. As a General English Teacher at IH London, you will have the chance to deliver dynamic lessons that help students improve their language skills in an engaging and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons: Teach General English to a diverse group of international students.
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment: Ensure students feel encouraged and motivated to succeed.
- Promote student progress: Provide valuable feedback and guidance to help students improve both inside and outside the classroom.
- Maintain professionalism: Uphold IH London’s policies and procedures, adhering to the highest standards of teaching, classroom management, and student engagement.
- Stay innovative: Make use of the latest teaching methods and technology to enhance student learning.
- Complete administrative tasks: Maintain accurate records and prepare academic reports as required.
Working Hours: This is a casual/fixed-term position. We are looking for teachers to deliver face-to-face courses, with flexible hours available throughout the summer. Availability is requested between 3rd June and 29th August 2025, with peak demand from 16th June to mid-August. Candidates are not required to commit to the entire period, and specific working dates will be discussed individually. Additional hours may be offered to the right candidates depending on course demand.
Essential:
- Right to work in the UK and currently based in the UK
- First degree (Level 6) or equivalent
- Cambridge CELTA qualification (or equivalent)
- Post-CELTA teaching experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
