Working Arrangement: Hybrid - approx. 1 day in the office per week

The role: We're currently seeking a skilled Digital Developer with strong full-stack experience and a solid understanding of automated testing frameworks. Working within a high-impact government environment, this role is part of a technical squad focused on delivering secure, scalable digital services that support national resilience and hazard response.

You'll contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of cloud-native applications, writing clean, efficient, and secure code while promoting automation and continuous improvement. This is a full-stack role with a strong development focus - testing experience is essential, but this is not a pure testing position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality software components in a modern cloud environment.
  • Use test-driven development practices to deliver clean, secure, well-tested code.
  • Integrate automated testing into the development workflow and enhance existing test frameworks.
  • Operate the software you build, monitoring performance and resolving production issues.
  • Collaborate with other developers, engineers, and stakeholders in an agile environment.
  • Build scalable and maintainable applications using AWS serverless technologies.

What the Client is Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Active SC Clearance
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS Serverless, Jira, and GitHub
  • Demonstrable experience in full-stack development
  • Proven experience with test automation and frameworks
  • Agile working practices

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Angular, CDK/Terraform, Cypress, and GDS standards
  • Experience in BDD and feature-based testing

Please note: This is not a suitable role for candidates whose experience is primarily or exclusively in testing.
