At Basecamp Research, we are looking for a highly capable and proactive Office Manager to join our London-based team. The role is based on site - 3 days per week in the office. You will take the lead on driving a positive company culture through office socials and be responsible for office operations and facilities, ensuring our office and lab spaces are welcoming and inspiring environments for all our employees. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment where no two days are the same!
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities management - you will be responsible for Basecamp Research’s workspaces.
- Maintaining a close working relationship with the landlord and Building Management team.
- Driving company culture, organising events, team lunches, and social gatherings for the local team.
- Welcoming visitors and ensuring office staff are informed of any offsite visitors.
- Main point of contact for our London office operations, liaising with service providers and vendors.
- Coordinating the disposal of hazardous waste from the Lab.
- Managing post, couriers, and general office operations.
- Ensuring that meeting rooms and offices are presentable for client presentations.
- Organising office space.
- Purchasing of office supplies thus ensuring a well-functioning work environment.
- Assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks and cross-functional projects as needed.
Required skills and experiences:
- At least 3 years of experience as an Office Manager, or a similar role - ideally in a start-up environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and professional presence, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, resourceful mindset and high degree of ownership and initiative.
- Confidence in interacting with people at all levels both within and outside the company.
- Flexible approach and a growth mindset.
- Capable of handling ambiguity and constant change.
