Butler Rose, Public Practice is delighted to be supporting our client on their search for an Accounts Manager. Currently, the firm consists of 30 staff members and they are looking to expand. The Accounts Manager oversees the full accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective team management. You will lead the accounts department, manage financial operations, and contribute to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the accounts team, including seniors and juniors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate and manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and liaise with banks and financial institutions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide financial insights and reports to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team through training and performance management.
Personal Requirements:
- ACCA/ACA/CA Qualified or Qualified By Experience
- Typically 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
