Controls Engineer PLC

My client, a specialist high precision component and machine manufacturer, has a fantastic opportunity for a PLC Controls Engineer.

The Job:

1. Create and develop PLC and NC using Siemens and Fanuc software.
2. Lead software commissioning of new machines and in-house refurbs.
3. Provide remote and face-to-face technical support for Siemens and Fanuc controls.
4. Maintain documentation for commissioning checklists, alarm lists, safety control etc.
5. Lead software commissioning and make PLC modifications for CNC conversion.
6. Provide technical support to a multi-discipline team including electrical design and procurement.
7. Confident to work with multi-axis CNC rotor milling and grinding machinery.
8. Travel to customer facilities both in the UK and overseas.

About you:

1. Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a PLC Controls Engineer or similar.
2. Good understanding of CNC machinery and writing PLC, HM/SCADA applications.
3. Experience of Siemens or Fanuc controls.
4. Good technical knowledge of machine tools including electric and process.
5. Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly manner.
6. Initiative-taking and love to take on a new challenge.
7. Flexible and willing to travel internationally.
