Are you an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented individual looking to take the next step in your legal support career? Our client, a highly respected Legal 500 firm based in Walsall, is currently seeking a Childcare Legal Secretarial Assistant to join their supportive and dynamic team.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established Childcare Law department, working closely with experienced solicitors who specialise in Legal Aid matters. You will be assisting on sensitive and impactful cases involving social services and hospitals, supporting the team in delivering a high standard of legal service to vulnerable families and children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Typing legal documents and correspondence (audio and copy)
- Answering and managing telephone calls with clients, professionals, and agencies
- Completing and submitting legal forms, including those relevant to Legal Aid
- Liaising with social services, hospitals, and other third-party organisations
- Managing case files, diary systems, and appointments efficiently
- Providing general administrative and clerical support to fee earners
Requirements:
- Previous legal secretarial experience, ideally within Childcare or Family Law
- Strong typing and IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills
- Understanding of Legal Aid processes (preferred)
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
