Technical Account Manager - Fresh Produce - Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to technical queries, customer complaints, and crises, ensuring effective communication through meetings, audits, and briefings, while protecting brand reputation for delivering safe and compliant products.
- Strengthen customer technical partnerships to ensure alignment with strategic business plans and delivery.
- Manage product specifications and ensure systems are up to date, in line with company targets, and commercially optimised.
- Drive continuous improvement in operations and product quality, while managing non-compliance issues with customers and suppliers.
- Lead supplier technical excellence programs, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and ethical standards are met.
- Oversee product quality improvement plans and ESG strategy delivery, focusing on climate change, water management, responsible farming, and waste management.
- Analyse and understand the full supply chain, costing models, and key commercial reports on yield and wastage to support procurement, commercial, and supply chain teams in successfully delivering sourcing and trade plans.
Technical Account Manager - Fresh Produce - Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
- QCF level 5-6 in a relevant academic discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a head office retail customer-facing role, ideally in technical, commercial, or procurement functions within a short shelf-life food supplier, particularly fresh produce, with direct interaction with UK operations.
- Proven track record in managing complex, commercially driven supply chains.
- Strong project management skills, meeting deadlines consistently.
- Excellent communication skills honed through direct engagement with demanding customers.
- Strong multitasking, organisational, and prioritisation abilities.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) - Additional languages are a plus.
Essential Requirements:
- UK Driver's License: A valid UK driver's license is required for the role.
- Flexibility to Travel: You must also be flexible to travel to UK sites and occasionally to international farming operations as needed.
