My client specialises in high-quality customer flexible packaging and labelling products. They are looking to recruit a Packaging Technician or Technical Manager who has a working knowledge of multiple print and prepress technologies. The ideal candidate will be required to have a good understanding of Flexo printing.

Responsibilities

1. Play a primary role in the area of Technical Service, working closely with the sales and production teams to achieve customer and business objectives through technical means.
2. Validate and liaise with Suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and maximum quality.
3. Colour Management expertise; proactively and reactively supports this technology, via the Print function, Ink Manager, and Ink Suppliers.
4. Assess customers\’ needs and proactively and reactively incorporate continuous improvement methods and philosophy.
5. Work with and call on top-level management as well as suppliers to develop technical response/action plans regarding issues and opportunities.
6. Troubleshoot press issues for flexo/gravure/offset products for the Narrow Web industry customers and recommend actions/formulations to improve/correct situations.
7. Gather correct information so lab resources can operate in the most efficient manner, both to correct issues and to design new products.
8. Complete and participate in special projects as assigned.
9. Provide weekly and/or monthly reports detailing technical projects/issues/needs.
10. Directly communicate on-site with customers to address technical issues and/or interact with customers as a professional immediate technical resource.
11. Client and Supplier visits.
