Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Functional Safety Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the software organisation to ensure the correct cascading of Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) to relevant software subsystems. Acting as the first point of contact for the software team, the Functional Safety Engineer will clarify TSRs, engineer a Functional Safety (FuSa) compliant architecture (applying decomposition as necessary), and identify gaps or roadblocks in implementing FuSa-compliant software, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the software organisation to cascade TSRs effectively to relevant subsystems.
- Act as the primary contact for the software team to clarify TSRs and engineer a Functional Safety (FuSa) compliant architecture.
- Ensure adherence to Functional Safety standards (ISO26262) at both system and software levels.
- Proactively identify and address challenges in achieving FuSa compliance, engaging relevant stakeholders when needed.
- Conduct safety analyses, including FMEA and FTA.
- Oversee Functional Safety aspects of supplier relationships, including Development Interface Agreements (DIAs).
The ideal Functional Safety Engineer will have a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and experience managing suppliers while delivering Functional Safety solutions in a fast-paced automotive environment.
