About The Role

The Engineering Access Manager leads the Greater Anglia discussions with Network Rail on when the railway is closed for engineering work and is critical that closures are aligned with customer demand. The Rail Replacement Manager oversees the provision of all rail replacement operations on the Greater Anglia network, ensuring that the operations are financially efficient as well as providing excellent customer experience. The support manager role will work across both areas but bringing closer working and alignment.

The Role

  • Responsible for late notice engineering possession requests, including any internal discussion and fact finding if required.
  • Compile and maintain an engineering possession database and upload to the Intranet, including known special events.
  • Liaise with the wider business, including the communication of the engineering possession plan and any revisions to the plan. This will include regular updates to finance, marketing, rail replacement, customer services, etc.
  • Manage all engineering possession and disputes trackers.
  • You will be supporting and deputising for (when required) the Engineering Access Manager and the Rail Replacement Manager in things such as engineering possession planning, potential conflicts between engineering possession planning and planned roadworks on rail replacement bus routes, yearly rail replacement budget forecast and other tasks as required.

We’re Looking For Candidates Who Have

  • An understanding of rail industry engineering possession planning processes and timescales.
  • An understanding of rail industry train planning processes, timescales and operating procedures and arrangements as relates to the train plan.
  • A good level of communication skills with experience of negotiating as well as being computer literate.
  • The ability to prioritise their own workload and are well organised.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A good standard of general education is needed for this role and candidates must be aged 18 or over.

This is an excellent developmental role, as you will be working across two teams within the Planning team.
