Role Summary:
The Manager/Senior Manager, Apheresis and Infusion Operations, manages onboarding and ongoing performance of Apheresis and Treatment Centres for Autolus\’ CAR T-cell therapies. This role does not involve patient care but provides technical support and serves as the main contact for UK-based centres. It may involve managing contract employees and requires regional travel up to 50% within the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with Apheresis, Cell Lab, and Treatment Centre Staff.
- Perform site assessments and train staff on Autolus collection requirements.
- Coordinate with clinical teams to establish collection site footprints.
- Manage onboarding activities and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Support quality systems and participate in deviation investigations.
- Monitor vendor performance and capacity post-launch.
- Author SOPs and manage process changes.
- Gather feedback for operational improvements.
- Maintain data and represent the department in projects.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Apheresis Operations Management, QA, GMP, or related fields (E).
- Experience in regulated environments (E).
- Experience in cellular therapy or stem cell programs (P).
- Experience working with raw material suppliers or CMOs (E).
- Experience managing external Apheresis providers (P).
- Customer-facing experience in pharma/biotech (P).
- Knowledge of import/export requirements (P).
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in science or nursing (E).
- Advanced degree preferred (P).
Skills/Specialist Knowledge:
- Adaptability, problem-solving, organizational skills, and customer focus.
- Knowledge of regulations like 21 CFR 1271, EU directives, FACT/JACIE, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English required; other European languages advantageous.
