Job Opportunity: Band 4 Rotational Pharmacy Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Rotational Pharmacy Technician. This is a rotational role requiring work across Prestwich Hospital and other GMMH sites in Manchester.

The role involves a wide range of duties including medicines reconciliation, accuracy checking, dispensing, and conducting audits. It is a full-time position that offers opportunities to develop your skills within the mental health field in a supportive environment. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Due to the nature of this role, the ability to travel between sites is required.

Responsibilities

  1. Provision of technical services to designated wards and departments, ensuring a continuous supply of medicinal products to patients within the trust.
  2. Accurate use of the Pharmacy IT System to monitor drug expenditure and trends across the directorates within the Trust.
  3. Participation in accuracy checking of dispensed items.
  4. Ward-based duties including medicines reconciliation, assessment of PODs, and liaising with healthcare professionals to gather relevant information on current medication and compliance status of newly admitted patients.
  5. Participate in service developments to improve patient care and increase efficiency.
  6. Provision of a quality service and maintenance of high standards of skills without direct supervision.

Employees will undergo and successfully complete formal in-house training for personal and professional development within specified timeframes.
