About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)?

We’re recruiting Support Workers for a specialist alternative provision that delivers education through outdoor learning and therapeutic approaches. This is a non-mainstream environment where no two days are the same – ideal for those who thrive outside the traditional classroom.

Some pupils may have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan), while others may not. All benefit from a tailored, trauma-informed approach to learning and care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH/SEND
  • Assist with outdoor, hands-on, and experiential learning activities
  • Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or SEND
  • Resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
  • Understanding of EHCPs and trauma-informed practice is advantageous
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

To Apply:

If interested, please email rachael.chapman@ednetwork.co.uk with your CV, or call 0191 823 97 52 for an informal chat about opportunities.
