A luxury British car manufacturer known for producing high-performance sports cars is currently looking to hire a Software Update Manager . The successful candidate will manage and ensure compliance to UNECE R156 – Software Update Management Systems across all programmes.

The Software Update Manager will:

  • Ensure adherence to R156-related processes across the department and the wider business.
  • Chair and lead the Software Update Change Control Board, reviewing and streamlining R156-related processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Support all SUMS concern escalations, ensuring timely resolutions, and represent Software Integration in engineering, legislation, and compliance reviews.
  • Build positive and constructive relationships at all levels and with stakeholders.

The Software Update Manager will have:

  • In-depth knowledge of UNECE R156 – Software Update Management System regulation, with demonstrable experience in its application within an OEM environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills are necessary, along with experience in automotive pre-production build environments and Electrical Engineering vehicle fleet support.
  • The ability to manage large workloads in a fast-paced environment and prioritise accordingly is crucial
  • Good experience in process design and implementation is essential, along with knowledge of delivering Electrical or Electronics commodities (both hardware and software).
  • Familiarity with the Product Development Cycle from concept to launch completion is required, as is a strong understanding of automotive legislation and certification requirements related to the EE domain.
