Main Objectives: To oversee various customer handling areas of airport operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and adherence to safe & secure working procedures.
Main Duties:
- Oversee all customer handling areas such as Check-in, Departure Gate, Transit, and Arrival.
- Ensure all functions are accurately and promptly carried out by company staff and Handling Agent Staff to the highest standards.
- Assign pre-flight duties to staff and conduct de-briefings to discuss discrepancies.
- Direct Check-in staff in handling passengers with irregularities, invalid documents, etc.
- Supervise excess baggage handling, including decision-making on charges and waivers.
- Manage Denied Boarding processes, guide check-in staff, and update SSCI for downgrading or offloading passengers.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with customs, immigration, security, police, medical, cargo, ground transport, catering, duty-free, courier companies, tour operators, and other airline staff.
- Ensure compliance with company and local policies during delays, providing assistance to delayed passengers.
- Monitor handling agent output to meet company standards and contractual agreements.
- Enforce safety and security standards.
- Ensure proper procedures for lost, found, and damaged baggage are followed, with timely resolution.
- Ensure staff on shift wear company uniforms as per standards.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of stationery and supervise distribution.
- Provide quality service to VIPs, unaccompanied children, etc., coordinating with lounge staff.
- Communicate with Duty Manager / Airport Manager regarding aircraft upgrades and over-sales issues.
- Coordinate with Airport Support Unit/WWCC for VCRS updates in case of misconnections.
- Monitor catering figures to prevent wastage and update catering units accordingly.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Airport Manager.
- Encourage GHA staff to sell more ancillaries and generate revenue.
- Brief DMs/APMs on GHA shortfalls daily.
- Monitor ramp activities.
- Review GSRs and discuss with APM for appropriate actions.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications: Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent.
