Leonardo is seeking a Senior High-Speed Digital Electronics Engineer to join the GCAP development team in either Edinburgh or Newcastle. GCAP is an innovative project focused on designing a new radar sensor. You will work within a multidisciplinary team across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements to delivery. This role offers a challenging opportunity to contribute to a growing program.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-speed digital printed circuit boards utilizing FPGA, microprocessor, and high-speed interconnect technologies
  • Support the hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis through design, testing, integration, and acceptance
  • Document work products and manage configurations
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to resolve complex system integration issues

Qualifications

  • Degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related science
  • Experience with system requirements analysis, schematic capture, high-speed serial communication design, and hardware-software integration
  • Methodical approach to hardware design lifecycle and debugging skills
  • Effective communication skills across disciplines

Security Clearance

Applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level), including at least 5 years of UK residency.
