Do you have experience working with electronic components, taking equipment apart, and checking the parts for damage? Have you ever been a mechanic or worked with hand tools to assemble items?

We have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Technician to join this busy and successful team over at the South Marston Industrial Estate in Swindon. This position is offered, initially, on a temporary contract but will become permanent for the right candidate! (Typically in under 6 months).

Working Hours: 7.45am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 2.30pm on a Friday!

You will be working in a team of two, stripping down drinking units (Brewery Pumps, Bar Guns etc...), washing and cleaning the components, checking them for faults, wear or damage, and then putting them back together again, neatly and effectively. You will work to tight deadlines and must therefore be able to work efficiently under pressure.

The refurb consists of a full strip down of all parts, checking for any damage or wear of parts. You will use deep cleaning food-safe degreaser, washing detergent, and de-tan products. The re-build stage consists of high quality, attention to the smallest detail, and following a systematic process to ensure successful completion.

Other duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Using a variety of grease for different jobs
  • Changing bearings and other small parts
  • Using tools such as spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, punches, pulleys, cutters, crimping tools, and bespoke tools from the unit manufacturers.
  • PAT testing and micro meter testing
  • Housekeeping

For this role, you will have:

  • The ability to work at a fast pace and to strict time deadlines, adhering to output targets.
  • Ability to lift weights of the units (within government weight limits)
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience in using tools such as spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, punches, pulleys, cutters, and crimping tools.

For this role, we are looking for individuals who are friendly, motivated, and enthusiastic, with previous experience of working to deadlines and used to producing quality work quickly and effectively.

Pay: £12.50 per hour (Paid weekly) – 28 days’ holiday (including Bank Holiday) Pension after 3 months. Pay reviews and opportunity for a permanent appointment.
