Job Introduction: Join the team that keeps the BBC on air, around the clock and around the world. The Centralised Coding & Multiplexing (CCM) team encodes and distributes BBC content across platforms, ensuring services are always available. We are expanding to include 3rd line support for the BBC's Arista network.
Main Responsibilities: The role involves shift work providing 24-hour support, incident management, and stakeholder communication for BBC platforms and services. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and supporting BBC applications in on-premise environments.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues using monitoring tools.
- Managing incidents from report to resolution, including major incidents, meeting SLAs.
- Logging and documenting incidents per ITIL practices.
- Communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, especially during high-impact events.
- Ensuring effective shift handovers.
- Contributing to process improvements and operational tooling.
Candidate Profile: We seek someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technical environment, passionate about service reliability, and collaborative in approach. You should enjoy troubleshooting networks and presenting solutions.
Experience required:
- Experience in 1st and 2nd line operations.
