Turners (Soham) Ltd is one of the UK's leading and independently owned logistics companies. We are looking for a Traffic Planner working in our Container Department based at Tilbury. You will be working in an operational team planning circa 50 plus company-owned vehicles UK wide.
The main functions of the role are:
- Planning the fleet for collections and deliveries to collection/delivery times and optimizing vehicle/driver utilization.
- Planning in vehicles for service as per company service requirements.
- Tracking and ensuring drivers are on track with their deliveries and collections.
- Dealing with any problems drivers may have while out on the road, liaising with the end customer if and when necessary.
The Traffic Planner is expected to liaise appropriately with drivers, customers, and managers, ensuring all road transport legislation and WTD are adhered to. The role will also involve some administration support with tasks such as order entry and data input.
The position is full-time, working 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will need good verbal and written communication skills and be computer literate.
