Base Hourly Rate: $30.14 - $30.57 plus 25% casual loading, penalties, allowances, super & salary packaging.

The Organisation:

Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency road, aeromedical, and primary health services for people in rural and remote Australia. We believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians can access essential primary health care services.

Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non-Emergency Patient Transport primarily in Victoria and New South Wales. We work with a large fleet of ambulances supported by RFDS aircraft. MPC provides clinical care for patients traveling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital, and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics.

About the role:

Flying Doctor Mobile Patient Care is seeking applications for casual Patient Transport Officers in Horsham and Stawell. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality patient care during on-road transport of patients with various medical conditions. As a leader in the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) industry, we offer structured training, opportunities for growth, and a supportive organizational culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform patient assessment and intervention on-road
  • Provide high-quality patient care during transport
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and stakeholders
  • Assess intervention effectiveness according to RFDS MPC guidelines, NEPT regulations, and scope of practice
  • Work independently and solve problems within policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Maintain understanding of RFDS MPC policies and NEPT regulations

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified as a Patient Transport Officer (PTO) with at least Cert III in Non-emergency Patient Care
  • Experience in NEPT sector preferred but not essential
  • Full Victorian Driver’s license with ability to drive in city and country conditions, and a satisfactory driving history
  • Availability to work shifts across a 7-day roster (no night shifts)
