Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care:
    • Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other daily care needs.
    • Support with mobility and use of aids or adaptations as required.
  • Daily Living Activities:
    • Provide assistance with meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
    • Help with shopping, budgeting, and managing household supplies.
  • Medication Support:
    • Administer or prompt clients to take prescribed medications in line with their care plan.
    • Record medication administration accurately.
  • Social and Emotional Support:
    • Build positive relationships with clients and foster an atmosphere of trust and respect.
    • Encourage clients to engage in social, recreational, or community activities.
    • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and improve well-being.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Monitor and report changes in clients’ health or behavior to the appropriate professionals.
    • Ensure the safety of clients by following all safeguarding procedures and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including care plans, logs, and incident reports.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and data protection policies at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in a care or support role (preferred but not essential as full training is provided).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and health and safety procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Full UK Driving License (preferred, but not mandatory for all roles).
