We are excited to announce we are now looking to hire a Professional Services Portfolio Manager into our thriving Group Professional Services (GPS) organisation within Computacenter. Working as the Professional Services Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the development, delivery, and ongoing evolution of Computacenter’s professional services portfolio. The role involves leading cross-functional collaboration through an extended virtual team of Solution Managers, Leaders, Chief Technologists, Technology Consultants, Group Development Strategy Managers, Marketing Managers, and Sales Specialists. This ensures the portfolio development aligns with the vision of the Solution Area leadership and the strategic goals of both Computacenter and Group Professional Services.

Group Professional Services encompasses Engineering, Consultancy, and Project Management practices, along with our growing Business Solutions portfolio and nearshore/offshore centres. We have over 4,200 skilled practitioners across core infrastructure technologies, industry-standard architecture, and project management methodologies. Operating across 3 continents and serving some of the world’s largest brands, we drive technological change in a thriving, fast-moving digital industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and develop the professional services portfolio in conjunction with key stakeholders to reflect the growth agenda of GPS.
  • Conduct assessments and analysis of market trends, economic indicators, and industry knowledge to inform development priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors and partners to understand development trends and influence the GPS portfolio accordingly.
  • Maximise access to and usage of investment funding from technology vendors and partners.
  • Collaborate in virtual teams to evolve, prioritise, implement, and communicate portfolio developments.
  • Support the preparation of development proposals and secure investment funding.
  • Represent GPS in articulating and promoting the portfolio internally.
  • Maintain understanding of the portfolio and development plans to ensure resource capacity and delivery models are aligned.
  • Work with GPS Partner Management to ensure the partner ecosystem supports the portfolio’s needs.
  • Participate in development forums to influence group technology sourcing and managed service strategies.
  • Ensure the delivery of portfolio developments, monitor project progress, and manage risks.
  • Track and report on portfolio performance, ensuring compliance with standards and maximising R&D tax credits.
  • Ensure tools and methodologies are implemented to automate and optimise delivery processes.
