Summary
Working under the supervision of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

Essential Functions
– Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs accurately and within the required timeframe.
– Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
– Interacts effectively with patients and their families.
– Assists patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
– Helps patients turn, reposition, and transfer between bed and wheelchair as needed.
– Listens to patient concerns and reports them to nurses.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials
– Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – preferred
– Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – preferred
– Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (Massachusetts) – preferred
– Nursing Assistant (LNA) – New Hampshire – preferred
Experience
1-2 years of experience in patient or elder care preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
– Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
– Knowledge of medical terminology.
– Strong patient/customer service skills.
– Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
– Proficient with electronic medical records.
