The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is the world’s leading standard-setting organisation for the global jewellery and watch industry. We promote responsible ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices throughout the entire supply chain. As we enter an exciting new chapter, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead the organisation with strategic insight, integrity and purpose.

This is a rare opportunity to take the helm of a respected and impactful global organisation at a critical time for responsible business. You will lead a dedicated team, work with an engaged international membership, and have the platform to shape the future of the industry. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the RJC’s long-term strategic vision. Reporting to the Board through the Executive Committee, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation remains influential, relevant and forward-looking as it continues to evolve.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a respected global body through growth, innovation and increasing public visibility. You will be the RJC’s principal representative and spokesperson, enhancing its profile across international platforms and with key stakeholders across industry, government, media and civil society. Internally, you will lead and motivate a skilled team, driving a values-based and collaborative culture while aligning day-to-day operations with the organisation’s strategic goals. You will ensure RJC members remain at the heart of everything we do, fostering a member-first approach in the development and delivery of our services.

This role requires someone who can confidently lead strategic planning and translate vision into action, while managing complex operations and ensuring financial sustainability. You will champion digital transformation, identify opportunities for innovation and growth, and guide the evolution of the RJC’s standards to reflect and anticipate global developments in responsible business practices.

We are seeking a highly credible, strategic leader with significant senior-level experience, ideally gained within a standards, certification, membership or regulatory context. You will have a strong understanding of sustainability, ethical supply chains and responsible business, along with a proven track record of influencing at Board level and delivering high-impact strategic programmes. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be exemplary, enabling you to represent the organisation confidently across diverse audiences and settings. You will be financially astute, digitally literate, and capable of leading change across both people and systems. Above all, you will bring a collaborative, inclusive leadership style grounded in integrity, vision and purpose.
