The Role
The Commercial function at JFD supports and manages customer contractual relationships both in the UK and internationally. From initial bids, working with the Bids team, to contract execution and ongoing relationship management, the team ensures seamless delivery and contractual compliance. This role provides expert commercial and contractual guidance, promotes consistency, mitigates risks, and maintains governance standards.
Principle Accountabilities
- Manage contracts and support commercial activities for long-term UK MOD contracts.
- Support the Bids team with commercial expertise.
- Execute commercial and contractual responsibilities post-contract award.
- Assist with commercial risks and complex contractual terms.
- Support commercial financial commitments and reporting.
- Advise on major third-party contracts.
- Assist with commercial activities such as warranties, bonds, and offsets.
- Support claims and liquidated damages processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in commercial, contractual, legal, or related fields with the ability to understand complex contracts.
- Knowledge of risk management, mitigation, and business governance processes.
- Experience in relationship management with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Leadership qualities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
