Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Azure System Engineer to manage and support our Azure cloud infrastructure, working closely with development, operations, and security teams to optimize performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and deploy Azure solutions to meet business needs with high availability, security, and scalability.
2. Manage and monitor Azure resources such as VMs, storage, networks, and databases.
3. Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates.
4. Optimize cloud application performance and troubleshoot issues.
5. Implement security best practices and ensure compliance.
6. Design backup and disaster recovery strategies.
7. Collaborate with teams and provide technical support.
8. Maintain documentation of configurations and processes.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience with Azure cloud services.
3. Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect) are preferred.

Technical Skills

1. Proficiency in Azure services, automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
2. Knowledge of DevOps practices, security standards, and management of virtual environments.
3. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
4. Experience with Fortinet firewalls, Intune, and virtual desktop environments is a plus.

Work Environment

Occasional on-call support and flexible hours may be required. The role is based in Southampton with potential for agile working depending on business needs.
