Fancy being part of a collaborative, forward-thinking global leader in critical communication solutions? We are currently recruiting for a Principal Product Definition Engineer to join our expanding team. This role has two main duties as follows:
- Product Owner: In this role you will be responsible for the backlog of one or more SCRUM teams. You will represent Product Managers in the SCRUM ceremonies and work alongside Project Managers to aid reporting and prioritise project issues. Your SCRUM team may work on several projects simultaneously and you will need to prioritise demand for your team's work from all areas of the business.
- Product Definition Engineer: This role deepens the product owner role. In this role you will define the detailed functionality of Sepura's radio products. You will work with technical standards, Product Managers, Senior Development Engineers, and the wider business.
Your Role: You will be the custodian of the developed requirements, disseminate them to stakeholders throughout the organisation, and become one of the go-to knowledge experts on products and features. As a feature expert you will assist other Product Owners to create user stories and acceptance criteria and help them understand user story interdependencies. The ideal candidate will be technical, flexible, conscientious, pragmatic, calm under pressure, enthusiastic and personable. You will be expected to voice your experience amongst many others to arrive at the best agreed course of action. This role particularly deals with supporting the development of AWS and Windows based applications. You will be supporting the Product Manager in managing product roadmaps and interacting with the software team to develop efficient solutions to satisfy customer requirements.

Your Day to Day: Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges. There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business.
Product Owner/Definition Engineer activities you will be responsible for include:
- Understand in depth feature, product, and system requirements, and in doing so help clarify functionality and the scope of projects
- Document and maintain the product and feature definition
- Manage project backlogs and facilitate backlog refinement
We're specifically looking for candidates who have experience in developing software tools and applications. In rare circumstances this job may require some travel, so it is desirable that the successful candidates has a full, clean driving licence and own car. This role will require SC clearance.

Essential:
- Qualifications: Relevant degree or equivalent expertise
- Experience and Skills: A proven history in development across a wide variety of platforms and development environments not limited to: AWS/Azure, Windows, Linux, Java, C#, C, C++, Internet technologies, API and protocols, Deployment models - Virtualisation, Cloud, Development pipelines
- Experience with requirements elicitation and requirements development
- Experience writing functional specifications or defining product functionality using user stories or use cases
- Experience working in a flexible Agile project-based environment
Desirable:
- Experience working with Android based products
- Experience with mobile phone technologies such as USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
