We are looking for a Fabricator/Welder to join the team at our Kintore facility. You will have a strong understanding of welding processes and materials to fulfil delivery of truck mounted and offshore containerised winches, diesel driven power packs, telescopic and folding wireline masts, Wireline Pressure Control Equipment, control and pressure test modules from both ferrous and nonferrous materials ensuring a high standard of quality is maintained. Your ability to interpret weld procedures and isometrics and engineering drawings to determine materials and consumables as well as planning task sequences will be crucial. Key to this role will be your ability to determine priorities to ensure continuous workflow between disciplines ultimately achieving target dates and on time delivery. As Fabricator/Welder, you will carry out acceptable and consistent levels of finish to set quality standards as determined by contract specifications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Assurance: Strive for excellence in the assembly and welding of component parts.
- Equipment Proficiency: Be proficient in using all welding equipment in the Fabrication Shop.
- Production Efficiency: Adhere to the weekly production schedule, identifying and addressing any key areas that may hinder achieving daily targets.
- Drawing Interpretation: Interpret weld procedures, engineering drawings, sketches, materials, and electronic images to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
- Safety & Reporting: Effectively report any HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) or productivity issues through the correct channels.
- Traceability & Consumables: Maintain welder traceability and consumable serial numbers. Follow recognized procedures for issuing and returning welding consumables from the store.
- Accurate Reporting: Complete work details accurately on Kronos electronic timekeeping and return them to the Cell Leader upon job completion.
- Housekeeping & Material Handling: Maintain production area housekeeping (5S) and conduct all material movements according to the company's safe working practices. Minimize waste by efficiently using and disposing of raw materials and consumable items.
- Continuous Improvement: Notify the Fabrication Lead of any necessary drawing or bill of material corrections. Contribute to the development of systems and improvements in working practices and processes.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance and report malfunctions to the Cell Leader as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Time-served apprenticeship in fabrication and welding (essential).
- NC in a relevant field (desirable).
Experience
- Experience working in a fabrication workshop (essential).
- Coded to 3G welding standard (desirable).
Skills, training or special knowledge
- Ability to operate basic hand tools (essential).
- Overhead crane and forklift license (desirable).
