About This Opportunity

We are playing a leading role in addressing the crisis in social housing. We have partnered with Crisis, issuing a joint call for 1 million additional social rent homes over a decade. Key to our ambition is providing increased support to specialist and supported housing providers, who provide a home for those in our society who need it most. Last year, we committed to providing an additional £200m in funding to the sector, and in February this year, the Prince of Wales and our CEO launched a partnership between our Group and the Homewards project of The Royal Foundation, with the aim of growing support to tackle homelessness.

To drive forward our shared ambitions, we are excited to introduce a high-profile new role within our Business and Commercial Bank: Head of Social & Supported Housing. You will work in our National Real Estate & Housing team, playing a pivotal role in crafting our strategy and leading initiatives that make a meaningful impact. You will be a key member of our wider leadership team, helping to steer the future of housing support.

You will work closely with senior leaders across our Group, ensuring our Social Housing Initiative, led from the Chief Executive's office, delivers on its promise to create positive change.

We will need you to:

  • Develop customer origination strategies by becoming the 'go-to' banking professional within the smaller social and supported housing community.
  • Work with our colleagues in credit risk and finance to evolve our product offering, so that we can become the leading bank in this area.
  • Promote the Bank with the wider professional community, treasury advisors and key influencers, developing the business opportunities these connections can bring.
  • Build our position as a leader in the supported and specialist housing sector, including our partnership with The Royal Foundation. This will involve planning and leading the execution of events, such as networking, seminars, and trade shows.

What You'll Need

  • Solid understanding of housing demand, funding structures, and key public and private sector partners.
  • Ability to handle professional relationships and engage with non-paid introducers to expand business opportunities.
  • Expertise in evaluating complex solutions to ensure alignment with business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Experience in managing significant customer accounts across differing products and services or leading a customer advisory team.
  • Ability to analyse data from multiple sources to identify key trends and business impacts.

About Working For Us

Our focus is to ensure we are inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We are committed to creating a consciously inclusive workplace where our colleagues can be themselves, thrive and perform at their best.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader. If you have a disability, you can also apply via our Disability Confident Scheme (DCS). Through the DCS, we guarantee to interview a fair and proportionate number of applicants with a disability, whose application meets the minimum criteria for the advertised job role.

We also provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers for applicants with a disability, long-term health condition or neurodivergent condition. If you would like an adjustment to the recruitment process just let us know!

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
