What You\’ll Do
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Repair Worker provides general maintenance and repair in carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical work, janitorial duties in public areas and vacant units, and grounds maintenance including snow removal, lawn cutting and trimming.
Contract Duration: 6 months
What We\’re Looking For
Education & Experience
•High School Diploma
•One year of experience working in building maintenance/janitorial work
Skills & Abilities
•Prior experience and skill in general maintenance and custodial work
•Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and heating
•High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
•Familiarity with techniques for interacting with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in person and over the telephone
•Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
•Demonstrated time management skills
•Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
•Valid Class G Driver’s License
•Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
•Audiometric Testing completed within 90 days of starting position
Assets
•Post-secondary education or formal training in building maintenance
•Certificate or training in electrical, plumbing, heating
•CPR and First Aid Certificate
What We Offer
•Competitive Salary: $28.98 – $34.08 per hour
• Hours per week: up to 40
•Percentage in lieu of benefits
•Vacation pay
