Working under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent, the full-time Operator III’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
- Clean and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly condition.
- Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
- Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate within established parameters.
- Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery and equipment for processing.
- Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually to ensure conformance to standards.
- Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Operate chemical processing equipment, pumps, valves, agitators, pressure vessels, etc., safely and efficiently.
- Read work orders, SOPs, directions, and guidelines to determine production specifications.
- Calculate chemical amounts for making up tanks using basic mathematics.
- Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
- Follow ADM and OSHA safety regulations, GMPs, and QA standards in all duties.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:
- Ability to read, write, and schedule.
- Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
- Teamwork skills.
- Forklift operation ability.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
