This NHS post will strengthen the resilience of the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Team, which is currently heavily dependent on the academic team for clinical support. This post will enable the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Team to more effectively support paediatric and neonatal services within the West London Children\’s Alliance, as well as more broadly across NW London ICB. The postholder will join the acute attending rota, covering the ward and providing advice and guidance for WLCH and external consults. They will take a lead for neonatal and perinatal infections within WLCH, working closely with the Northwest London Perinatal Network, including collaboration with the infection prevention control (IPC) team to prevent outbreaks within neonates and paediatrics. This role is suitable for post-CCT doctors with clinical training and expertise in paediatric infectious diseases and immunology.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • On GMC\’s register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
  • On GMC\’s Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
  • Membership of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria

  • Completed training in Paediatric Infectious Diseases
  • IT Skills and computer literacy

Leadership/ Management Skills

Essential criteria

  • Able to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, exert appropriate authority
  • Proven skills in leading, motivating, developing, and managing the performance of colleagues
  • Knowledge of finance/budgets
  • Management of staff

Teaching & Training

Essential criteria

  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff

Audit

Essential criteria

  • Understanding of principles of clinical audit

Academic achievement

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of achievement appropriate to appointment at consultant level at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Language

Essential criteria

  • Able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
