Junior Buyer – Footwear & Accessories

Salary: £27k to £45k DOE

Location: Peterborough Head Office

Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours a week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm – Office Based

The Vacancy

What is the role

To implement the sourcing and buying strategy for Footwear & Accessories, supporting the delivery of target KPIs. Collaborate with the Buying Manager, Merchandiser, and Footwear & Accessories tech team to plan and balance the range.

What you will do

• Plan a commercial range with the Buying Manager
• Negotiate with suppliers for best prices while maintaining product standards
• Ensure supply base can meet requirements
• Contribute to brand and product handwriting
• Ensure a balanced range of good, better, and best products
• Meet deadlines within the buying calendar
• Set performance standards for self and team
• Present the range in meetings
• Trade the department based on sales performance
• Work with the tech team on fit and quality
• Source and develop new products
• Manage product sign-off dates
• Focus on profit and margin strategies
• Handle administrative duties from concept to purchase
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
• Manage order processes with approval
• Organize samples and garment approvals
• Perform ad hoc duties as required
• Deputize for the Buying Manager/Director
• Manage critical path proactively
• Stay informed on market trends and customer profiles

What you will bring

Demonstrate passion for fashion, especially in non-standard sizing. Possess strong communication skills, teamwork, time management, and a proactive approach. Be adaptable, detail-oriented, commercially minded, and responsible. Hold a relevant degree or equivalent, with at least 2 years at Assistant Buyer level, and experience in footwear & accessories.
