Job Overview

We are excited to introduce a brand-new unique position within our Stronger Families Countywide Service – a Social Work Support Officer role.

As a Social Work Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the countywide fast‑paced multi‑disciplinary stronger families team (SFT) comprising of social work management, youth workers and parent and family workers who work alongside children’s safeguarding teams where children and young people may be at the edge of care or the team are stabilising and supporting their existing care plans; as such contributing to positive and creative outcomes for children and their families.

You will provide essential administration support to the team. You will therefore need to be an experienced administrator with strong administration skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, databases, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook. Panel organisation and minute‑taking experience would be advantageous.

You will need to be highly organised, self‑motivated, have excellent time‑management skills, be able to work toward and meet deadlines, and identify areas for service improvement while being willing to develop this new role based on the support needs of the service.

You will build excellent interpersonal relationships with colleagues and service users alike.

This role will be the first point of contact for families and the team, and the ideal candidate will manage conversations in a compassionate and professional manner over the telephone. You will be confident, have excellent listening, recording and typing skills and will accurately record information onto our internal database system (Mosaic).

The post is an administration/home‑based position but may require occasional travel to pre‑planned team meetings and professional development. A driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.

This is a countywide service accessing all local area offices. There is flexibility around accessing a work base, and your work will predominantly be from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the countywide multi‑disciplinary stronger families team (SFT) by providing administrative assistance.
  • Organise panels, take minutes and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage time, meet deadlines and identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and service users.
  • Act as the first point of contact for families and the team via telephone.
  • Record information accurately onto the internal database system (Mosaic).
  • Attend pre‑planned team meetings and professional development sessions, travelling where required.
  • Provide home‑based support while maintaining flexibility in working arrangements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experienced administrator with strong administrative skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook) and database management.
  • Panel organisation and minute‑taking experience.
  • Highly organised, self‑motivated with excellent time‑management skills.
  • Ability to identify areas for service improvement and develop the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
  • Listening, recording and typing proficiency for accurate data entry.
  • Driving licence and access to a car (advantageous).

Employment Details

  • Salary: ÂŁ26,824 – ÂŁ29,540 per annum.
  • Type: Permanent.
  • Working pattern: Full Time.
  • Hours per week: 37.
  • Work Base: Predominantly homeworking; Hybrid.
