Job Summary

This is a brigaded campaign, representing two or more divisions across the Health and Safety Executive. A summary of these divisions is below:

  • Building Safety Regulator (BSR) x4: The Health and Safety Executive has established the new Building Safety Division (BSD) to ensure high-risk residential buildings (HRBs) are safe and enable people to feel safe in their homes. BSD will oversee changes to the safety and performance of all buildings and raise industry professional standards year on year, working with residents and industry to make sure everybody has a voice in achieving this goal.
  • Director of Regulation (DoR) x1: Working within the Divisional Support Unit, Operational Support teams are responsible for supporting frontline colleagues, aligned to the Inspection, Investigation and Specialist Divisions, overseeing operational delivery across a range of industries including Manufacturing, Construction and Agriculture.

Roles involve providing administrative support, managing stakeholder communications, supporting project activities, and ensuring data compliance. Part-time working hours are available, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

Job Description

You will contribute to HSE’s strategy by undertaking business support tasks, including responding to email queries, managing systems, and liaising with stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to meet business objectives.
  • Working with relevant systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR systems.
  • Ensuring timely and effective customer service.
  • Supporting colleagues on projects and activities.
  • Overseeing data entry and management compliance.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including candidates.

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Criteria

  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Well-organized with good prioritization skills.
  • Ability to deliver consistent customer service.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Willingness to learn new skills such as invoicing.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Behavioral competencies include delivering at pace and working together.

Salary: £26,770 plus £7,755 Civil Service pension contribution. Benefits include flexible working, training, holiday entitlement, and more.

Selection Process

Assessment based on Behaviours, Strengths, Ability, and Experience. Application involves online tests, personal statement, and interviews scheduled from June.
