The Role of the Process Control Technician is to provide technical expertise and maintain safe and efficient operations on the Liberty Speciality Steels Rotherham site.

Responsibilities:
- Quality assurance, maintenance, and development of equipment such as combustion, process control, inspection, water treatment, boilers, security systems, radiation monitoring, CCTV, communication systems, and process control software.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance following the company's asset management framework, statutory responsibilities, and fault-finding techniques.
- Ensure health and safety compliance by applying risk assessment and hazard identification techniques, and develop SIF procedures.
- Carry out calibrations, document activities, and generate reports to ensure quality standards.
- Support energy-saving initiatives, plant upgrades, and safety improvements.
- Assist during installation of capital projects and communicate with process control teams.
- Develop technicians, graduates, and apprentices to meet business objectives.
- Gain familiarity with plant equipment and systems through collaboration and training, applying this knowledge to maximize plant performance.
- Specialize in certain plant items while maintaining a working knowledge of all equipment.
Requirements:
- Qualified to ONC/HNC in engineering, preferably with electrical apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of process control applications and electrical safety.
- Understanding of Process Hazards Analysis and quality standards like ISO9001, TS 16949, etc.
- Experience with process systems, networks, SCADA, PLCs, and communication systems.
- Familiarity with safety legislation and risk assessment methodologies.
